What is TICAD?

The Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV) will be held on 28-30 May 2008 hosted by the city of Yokohama, also home to the UNU Institute of Advanced Studies. Held once every five years since 1993, this is the first time TICAD will be convened in a city other than Tokyo.

UNU-IAS has long standing research programmes and activities of direct relevance to this TICAD meeting, which for the first time includes climate change and the environment as official agenda items.
