Course Description

The course analyzes the theories and concepts concerning the term "development" and “sustainable development”. Initially, the course will introduce students to the main readings in the development literature from different perspectives and disciplines, as well as help students understand why countries and regions have different paths of development. In the second quarter, the focus of the course will be on the debates on sustainable development in the last forty years, particularly post Rio-92.
